Skin cancer: Epidemiological, clinical and histological aspects in albino and non-albino in Yaoundé (Cameroon)

Background: Individuals with phototype VI compared to albinos have a natural protection against the cancerogenic effect of UV rays. The aim this study was describe epidemiological, clinical, and histopathological aspects skin cancer in non-albinos. Methodology: We conducted descriptive, cross-sectional over period ten years. Data collection retrospective exhaustive five dermatology units one oncology unit Yaoundé. Patients having complete medical file were included study. Sociodemographic, variables studied. analysis performed SPSS, version 20.0, Excel 2016. Results: 134 patients. average age 43.7 ± 12.2 years, extremes 15 80 sex ratio among 1/1.2, 1/1 western region most represented (44%). time diagnosis varied from 3 64 months. face, low neckline, upper limbs frequently involved. frequent cancers diagnosed after confirmation decreasing order were: epidermoid carcinoma, melanoma, basal cell Bowen’s disease.
